Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership qualities, and citizenship that influence their adult lives. It encourages the cadets to try new things and provide service to others. Military College Jhelum is a prestigious institution of Pakistan which focuses on the overall development of personality of its cadets. The institution lays special emphasis on the co-curricular and extra- curricular activities. Apart from the conventional sports competition, a number of different clubs have been formulated in the pattern of societies in universities to indulge the cadets in wide range of activities according to their interest. Scouting club is an exalted emblem of a wide range of clubs and remains in the limelight throughout the year.
During the current session, the cadets missed the opportunities to exhibit their skills in the annual competition of scouts commonly known as Jamboree among the scout circles due to the extended academic year prompted by the aftermath of Covid-19. But this setback did not waver spirits of scouts. The club activity is going on weekly basis as scheduled and cadets are participating with enthusiasm and zest. They gave a positive response to the adverse circumstances and engaged themselves in the drills of pioneering, tent pitching, first aid and cooking in weekly sessions of clubs. The cadets manifested their agility and endeavored to acquire zenith of dexterousness to win laurels for the College in the upcoming competitions.
